Earth Friendly Practices & Systems Currently in Place:

  • Linen & towel reuse program that saves over 81,000 gallons of water and over 500 gallons of detergent per year

  • Metallic window coating on all windows that reflects sun in the summer and insulates in the winter

  • Energy saving water-source heat pumps in each guest room and suite

  • Automatic thermostats in each guest room and suite that reset when unoccupied

  • Fresh air exchange systems which cool common areas with fresh outside air when possible

  • Participant in the Springfield Adopt-a-Street Program, adopting 1 mile of Adams Street
  • All major pieces of equipment are computer controlled to regulate speed and output to reduce energy usage and consumption

  • Energy efficient lighting throughout the hotel

  • Office recycling program and purchase of recycled paper products

  • Staff education of eco-friendly programs and policies

  • Purchase of reusable items, such as ceramic mugs and glasses in guest rooms and use of glass items in the breakfast area
